Overcoming The Mount Sumbing Fire, Ganjar Coordination Of BNPB Asks For Helicopter Assistance From Aceh

Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo moved quickly in handling fires that hit the slopes of Mount Sumbing. In addition to deploying personnel, Ganjar has also coordinated with BNPB to ask water bomber helicopters (water bombing helicopters) to speed up the blackout.

"Now it is being handled. We have coordinated with the Kapolda and BNPB to ask for helicopters from Aceh," said Ganjar when met after the declaration of the Peace Election at Simpang Lima Semarang, Sunday, September 3.

From that coordination, BNPB plans to send helicopters, on Monday, September 4. Currently, BNPB water bombing helicopters are still being assisted for handling fires in the Aceh region.

"Some points in Indonesia are indeed in a fire. So the helicopter was only sent on September 4", he explained.

Even so, continued Ganjar, the team has gone down and has reviewed the location of the fire.

"It's already down, it's just a matter of speeding up (propagating)," he said.

As is known, a fire has hit the slopes of Sumbing since Friday evening, September 1. The fire continued to spread and devoured the forest area there.

Efforts have been made. A total of 1,056 joint personnel have been dispatched to the location for handling. A number of climbers have also been successfully evacuated.
