Sandiaga Uno PPP: We Are Istiqomah With A Political Agreement Agreed

Chairman of the Election Winning Body (Bappilu) PPP, Sandiaga Uno said his party was focused on the targets to be achieved in the 2024 presidential election.

Sandi said PPP would not cheat, let alone betray by sticking to the agreed political agreement for victory at the democratic party.

"@DPP_PPP will focus on achieving the targeted votes in the upcoming elections. We are istiqomah with the agreed political agreement," said the former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta in his Xp account, Thursday, August 31.

Thus, Sandi said PPP would not close the space for friendship with other political parties that would contest the 2024 General Election. For him, this is for the common purpose for the progress of the nation.

"Opening the friendship space with all parties that will participate in the democratic party in 2024, because we are all partners in developing the country," he said.

The General Elections Commission (KPU) has determined that the registration for the 2024 presidential and vice presidential candidates will start from October 19 to November 25, 2023.

As regulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu), pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of valid votes nationally in the previous election for members of the DPR.

Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR. In addition, candidate pairs can also be promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
