Democrats On The Anies-Cak Imin Duet: We Were Forced To Accept The Decision

JAKARTA - Secretary-General of the Democratic Party Teuku Riefky Harsya revealed that the duet of Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin was carried out unilaterally.

"This approval is carried out unilaterally on the initiative of the Head of Nasdem, Surya Paloh," Teuku said in a written statement, Thursday, August 31.

This is based on the Democratic confirmation of Anies, which was confirmed by the former Governor of DKI Jakarta.

"Democrats were "forced" to accept the decision (fait accompli)," he said.

Teuku said that the information related to the approval of political cooperation between the NasDem Party and PKB was obtained by the Democrats from Anies Baswedan's spokesman, Sudirman Said.

Responding to this, the Democrats will hold a meeting of the Party High Council. The meeting agenda is to make the next decision regarding the party's attitude in the Coalition for Amendments to Unity (KPP).

"In accordance with the 2020 Democratic Party's AD/ART, the authority to determine the coalition and vice presidential/vice presidential candidates is determined by the Party's High Council," he said.
