UNS Chancellor Silenced After Being Examined By The Central Java Prosecutor's Office For Alleged Budget Corruption Cases

SOLO - Chancellor of Sebelas Maret University Surakarta Jamal Wiwoho was questioned for seven and a half hours regarding the alleged corruption of the 2022 UNS Work Plan and Budget, by the Central Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati), at the Surakarta District Attorney's Office (Kejari) office.

During the examination by the Attorney General's Office, UNS Chancellor Jamal Widodo was seen arriving at the Surakarta Kejari office at around 09.00 WIB. He then left the Kejari Office, at 16.30 WIB. However, when asked about the examination, he refused to provide information.

"I forgot how many investigators asked. I have given all the investigations," said Jamal and then got into his car and left the Kejari office as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 31.

Head of Attorney General's Office for Legal Information, Arfan Triyono, said that Jamal Wiwoho's examination was carried out in connection with the alleged corruption in the work plan and the UNS budget for the 2022 fiscal year. Apart from the Chancellor, he continued, there were six other witnesses who had been examined in the alleged corruption case.

According to Arfan, this is only the investigation stage and only seven witnesses have been examined. "However, I have not been given a list of names. The last one is today, Mr. Chancellor of UNS," he said.

According to him, the examination of the witnesses of the alleged corruption case began this past week. This is in accordance with the investigation warrant dated August 21, 2023.

According to him, there must be further investigations. This is still growing, just starting this investigation.

Meanwhile, regarding the witnesses examined from any elements, he said, only from the internal UNS. However, it is certain that witnesses from outside UNS will also be examined.

While focusing on UNS first. Then the examination was carried out focusing on Solo, because there were many domiciles from here. However, the whole examination team came from the Central Java Prosecutor's Office. "At the Solo Kejari, we only borrowed a place," he explained.
