DLH DKI Sanctions 2 Coal Companies In Jakut

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency has imposed sanctions for forcibly stopping the business activities of two coal warehousing and storage companies (stockpile) in North Jakarta, namely PT Trada Trans Indonesia and PT Tans Bara Energy.

The two companies that were given administrative sanctions have not complied with environmental management regulations that have the potential to pollute the environment.

"This is based on the findings of a joint team in the field," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency Asep Kuswanto in Jakarta, Wednesday.

The sanctions are given based on the orders/obligations stated in the Decree of the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Environment Agency Number e-0054 of 2023 and Number e-0073 of 2023.

"The LH Service Team consisting of the Enforcement and Law Enforcement Sector (PPH), Environmental Supervisory Officer (PPLH) and the Supervisory Coordinator of Civil Servant Investigators (Korwas PPNS) Polda Metro Jaya found that the two companies had not complied with environmental management regulations," he said.

Elements that have not been obeyed include the fact that nets/net have not been completely installed at the activity site, have not yet managed runoff from coal storage and do not yet have temporary shelters for toxic and hazardous waste.

In addition, it was also found that there were coal deposits and spread of oil in the drainage leading to the city channel and did not have a temporary shelter for domestic waste.

In addition, it was found that there were traces of burning garbage. In fact, cigarette butts were still found at the location where the coal was stored.

"Article 495 of Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2021 is that we have the right to temporarily suspend or all efforts and/or activities if violations are found against environmental management," said Asep.

Asep said that his party would not play games with companies and industries that contribute to air pollution in Jakarta.

"We will act on all these rogue companies, if they don't want to improve their environmental management, DLH will not hesitate to revoke the company's license," said Asep.

Currently, his party is aggressively monitoring all companies that have the potential to commit violations that result in environmental pollution, especially air pollution in Jakarta.

"Currently we are intensifying inspections on all industries in Jakarta, we are deploying all DLH law enforcement teams to monitor the industry," he said.
