Flash Floods In Nagan Raya Aceh, Dozens Of Houses Were Damaged

Head of BPBD Nagan Raya Regency Irfanda Rinadi said that the flood disaster caused damage to 11 houses inhabited by 34 people. Irfanda said that among residents whose houses were damaged by the floods there were those who took refuge in the sub-district and police posts. "Alhamdulillah, no residents were killed in this disaster," he told ANTARA Tuesday, August 29. In addition to causing damage to houses, flash floods caused damage to one place of worship in Blang Meurandeh Village, Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District. BPBD Nagan Raya Regency still recorded the impact of flash floods that occurred in Blang Meurdeh Village and Babah Suak in the Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District area on Monday (28/8) night.Camat Beutong Atuh Banggalang Rustam Effendi on Tuesday morning said that the flood forced a number of residents to flee in sub-districts, mosques and schools. However, he could not say how many displaced residents to avoid the impact of flooding due to data collection were still ongoing. Meanwhile, BPBD officers together with BPBD officers TNI, Polri, and the sub-district government cleared areas affected by flash floods with residents and volunteers.

BPBD Nagan Raya Regency lowered heavy equipment to the Beutong Ateuh Banggalang highlands to help clean up flood-affected areas.
