MA Increases The Sentence Of Corruption Defendant KONI Padang Plus Money Replacement Of IDR 521 Million

The Supreme Court has increased the sentence for two convicts of corruption in grant funds from the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Padang, West Sumatra on behalf of Nazar and Davitson.

This was confirmed by the Head of the Intelligence Section of the Padang District Attorney Afliandi regarding the Supreme Court's decision.

"We have received the verdict report where the Supreme Court has increased the sentence to the convict, the execution will be carried out as soon as possible," Afliandi said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 22.

The Supreme Court in its cassation decision sentenced Davitson and Nazar to three years and six months in prison, and a fine of Rp. 100 million, subsidiary to six months in prison.

In addition to imprisonment and fines, the Supreme Court also sentenced the convict to pay compensation of Rp521 million each.

With the provision that if the replacement money is not paid no later than one month after the court's decision has permanent legal force, then the Prosecutor can confiscate his property for auction.

The two convicts who served as former Deputy Chairman of KONI and Deputy Treasurer I KONI were initially sentenced to only one year and six months in prison by the first level of the court and the appeal level.

Based on this decision, the Public Prosecutor's team at the Padang District Attorney filed an appeal to the Supreme Court, until it was decided differently by the Supreme Court.

To carry out the execution, continued Afliandi, who is familiarly called Andi, the Prosecutor's Office only needs to prepare the administration because the two convicts are already in prison.

"The administration is prepared, then the sentence for the convict will be increased according to the decision of the Cassation from the Supreme Court," he explained.

In that case, there was actually one other convict, namely the former chairman of KONI Padang on behalf of Agus Suardi, but the appeal against the person concerned has not been decided by the Supreme Court.
