Jokowi Will Realize The Indonesia-Africa Collaboration Over The Next 5 Years

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that Indonesia will realize concrete collaboration with Africa through a grand design for the development for the next five years that is being worked on.

This was conveyed by Jokowi after holding a bilateral meeting with President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the Dar Es senang State House, Tanzania, on Tuesday, August 22.

"Indonesia will walk the talk to realize a concrete collaboration with Africa. Indonesia is currently completing its grand design development for the next five years for Africa," said President Jokowi as stated in a statement received in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 22, which was confiscated by Antara.

President Jokowi said that the development plan is one of the agricultural sectors in Tanzania, namely through plans to revitalize Farmer's Agriculture and the Rural Training Center in Morogoro Tanzania.

As previously reported in addition to the agricultural sector, the Head of State also emphasized Indonesia's commitment to building health resilience in Tanzania through meeting pharmaceutical product needs in Tanzania.

According to Joko Widodo, Indonesian pharmaceutical companies will export their first products in Tanzania as a form of contribution to meet the needs of Tanzanian pharmaceutical products.

President Jokowi also conveyed Indonesia's intention to increase the value of investment in Tanzania in the energy sector.

He considered that investment in this field was very strategic and could strengthen cooperation between developing countries.

The President also encouraged the formation of a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between Indonesia and Tanzania to optimize the trade potential of the two countries.

Furthermore, President Jokowi also mentioned that in the meeting, Indonesia proposed the establishment of a Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) to ensure the protection and continuity of investment between the two countries.
