JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono will require civil servants (PNS) within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government echelon IV and above to use electric vehicles every day.
This was revealed by Heru after a coordination meeting on air pollution problems in Jabodetabek led by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
"If I later echelon IV employees and above must use electric vehicles, at least electric motorbikes," said Heru at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Friday, August 18.
Currently, the mechanism for instructions on the use of vehicles is still being discussed. Heru has not yet decided when the obligation for DKI civil servants to echelon IV and above using electric vehicles will apply.
According to Heru, the instructions he will issue will not burden echelon IV civil servants and above. Because they have transportation allowances.
"DKI officials have DKI transportation allowances. Well, I asked for a transfer for him to buy an electric motorbike," said Heru.
Another policy taken by the DKI Provincial Government to deal with air pollution is the trial of a work from home (WFH) system with a composition of 50 percent for ASN who do not provide direct services.
This 50 percent WFH policy was also made to support smooth traffic during the ASEAN Summit on September 5-7, 2023. This rule is implemented on August 21-October 21, 2023 for ASN who perform staff or support functions.
Plt. Head of the DKI Jakarta Communication, Information and Statistics Agency, Sigit Wijatmoko explained, WFH does not apply to services that are directly to the community, such as hospitals, health centers, Satpol PP, Fire and Rescue Service, Transportation Service, to village level services.
” The ranks of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government continue to strive to provide optimal services to the community. We ensure that the implementation of WFH does not have an impact on public services and work is still being carried out properly,” ungkal Sigit.
Sigit added that the percentage of employees implementing WFH and attendance at the office will also be adjusted during the ASEAN Summit on September 4-7, 2023, with details of 75 percent of employees WFH and 25 percent of working from the office.
This adjustment applies to government offices close to the location of the ASEAN Summit, such as the Tourism Office in Kuningan, South Jakarta.
