Bali Police Arrest Ojol Raping Brazilian Foreigners In East Java

The joint team of Jatanras Polresta Denpasar and Polda East Java arrested the perpetrators of the rape of a foreign national (WNA) from Brazil named Wangkadasi Dever (WD) in Pasuruan, East Java.

The Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Police Commissioner Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, said the arrest of the man who works as an online motorcycle taxi driver took place last Tuesday at around 21.30 WITA after raping a Brazilian woman with the initials GWL.

"The pursuit process was carried out by a team that was immediately formed by the Denpasar Police Chief in collaboration with the Pasuruan Police that the perpetrator with the initials WD was in the jurisdiction of the East Java Police. Last night at around 21.30 WITA, the team arrested the perpetrators of the rape of Brazilian citizens," Jansen said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday 9 August.

Previously, the Denpasar Police Jatanras team had pocketed information on the whereabouts of the perpetrators after the rape incident that occurred on Monday, August 7, 2023, in an empty land in Nyangnyang, Jimbaran, South Kuta, Badung, Bali. After the development was carried out, it was found that the perpetrator lived in a boarding house in the area of Kerobokan, Badung, Bali.

However, after the rape crime, the perpetrator fled to East Java by land crossing from Gilimanuk Harbor, Bali to Ketapang Port, East Java and then to Pasuruan.

"The perpetrator using a trip from Jimbaran went straight to East Java. The goal was to go to his uncle's house in Pasuruan. Arriving at the location, the team immediately moved to arrest the perpetrators," he said.

Currently, the perpetrator has been detained at the Denpasar Police for a series of further investigations.

Jansen said the arrest of the perpetrator was also assisted by the management where the perpetrator worked as an online motorcycle taxi driver. Based on data received by the police from the office where the perpetrator worked, the perpetrator did indeed receive an order for a passenger request when the report occurred.

"Based on data, the perpetrator on behalf of WD got an order at the time of the incident," said former Denpasar Police Chief Jansen Panjaitan.

Previously, the WD perpetrators were hunted by a joint team from the Bali Police and the Denpasar Police after receiving information on a criminal act of rape against a Brazilian. In the report, the suspect WD raped a Caucasian from Samba Country in an empty land in South Kuta, Badung, Bali on Monday at 04.00-05.00 WITA.

The act of rape began when the victim ordered online motorcycle taxi transportation services through an online motorcycle taxi application that was about to travel from Puri Kelapa Quest By Bukit Villa to Villa ASRI Jimbaran, Nusa Dua. After the order was made, the perpetrator came to pick up the victim.

During the trip, the victim was invited to continue to communicate by the perpetrator until the victim did not pay attention to the map of the travel route on the google maps which became the destination until it finally arrived at an empty land.

At that place, the perpetrator carried out his depraved act. The victim ran, but was arrested by the perpetrator. After that, the perpetrator took the victim to where he lived.
