KPK Prosecutor Demands Bribery Of Former South Buru Regent 2 Years In Prison

The Public Prosecutor's Team (JPU) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has sued Liem Sin Tiong, a defendant in the alleged crime of bribing former South Buru Regent Tagop Sudarsono Soulisa for 2 years in prison.

"Asking the panel of judges who examined and tried this case to declare the defendant guilty of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter (a) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Corruption Eradication in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code," said the KPK prosecutor team coordinated by Taufiq Ibnugroho in Ambon as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 8.

The prosecutor's demands were delivered in a trial led by the Chairman of the Ambon Corruption Court, Haris Tewa and accompanied by Lutfi Alzagladi and Antonius Sampe Sammine as Member Judges.

The defendant was also charged with paying Rp85 million, subsidiary to four months in prison, ordering the defendant to remain detained and the defendant charged with paying a court fee of Rp2,000.

There are also things that incriminate the defendant being charged with imprisonment for not supporting the government's program in eradicating corruption, collusion, and nepotism.

Meanwhile, the mitigating factor is that the defendant is polite and has never been convicted.

Liem Sin Tiong is a new defendant in the alleged bribery case against the former Bursel Regent for the 2011-2021 period Tagop Sudarsono Soulisa to get a road construction project in the city of Namrole in 2015.

The defendant was declared joint and continued with Ivana Kwelju bribing Tagop Soulisa with Rp400 million to win a road project in the city of Namrole.

The panel of judges postponed the trial until next week with the agenda of hearing the defendant's defense through his legal adviser.
