Police Reveal Harun Masiku Turns Out To Be In Indonesia, KPK: We Follow Up

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that it will follow up on information on Harun Masiku's whereabouts, who is said to be in the country. The search will be carried out actively to arrest the fugitive who bribed the former General Election Commission (KPU) leader, Wahyu Setiawan.

"If there is, we will follow up. We will actively search," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, August 7.

Ali said the KPK had opened its ears about Harun's whereabouts. Moreover, his party has received certainty from the National Police if the former legislative candidate is not abroad.

The anti-corruption commission also confirmed that it would explore the crossing data submitted by the Head of the International Relations Division (Kadiv Hubinter) of the National Police Inspector General Krishna Murti. This submission was carried out in a closed meeting this morning.

"So this meeting will not stop, in the future, technically we will follow up through the deputy for prosecution and deputy for information and data," he said.

As previously reported, the National Police said Harun Masiku was in the country. Certainty is based on the crossing data they have.

"There is data on the crossing that shows that the person concerned is domestic," Krishna said after a meeting with the KPK structural ranks at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, August 7.

As a reminder, the KPK is still pursuing three fugitives. The first is Kirana Kotama, which has been sought since 2017 for alleged bribery in filing for a revision of forest conversion in Riau Province in 2014 to the Ministry of Forestry.

Second, Paulus Tannos who stumbled upon the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Electronic Identity Cards (e-KTP). He is currently in Singapore.

Finally, former candidate Harun Masiku is also still at large. The suspect who gave bribes to former General Elections Commission (KPU) Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan is still unknown.
