Ridwan Kamil: Acting Governor of West Java Can Immediately "Stepping On Gas"

West Java - The position of Ridwan Kamil (RK) as the Governor of West Java ended on September 5, 2023. According to RK, his successor can immediately "stepping on gas".

"Whatever it is, I make sure the West Java is good again, I make sure the chosen will be very comfortable continuing the leadership that I built."

RK said that West Java's situation is currently good. The province, he said, has received 542 awards, including the best economy, and the handling of the level of chronic nutrition alias the best stunting.

"It is like the Acting Governor can stepping on gas. The car that has been prepared I think will be very comfortable."

After the Acting (PJ) of the Governor of West Java was elected, RK would give a view to the official, so that for 1.5 years of leadership, the West Java government went smoothly.

At present, West Java DPRD has proposed three names as candidates for the Acting Governor of West Java, namely the Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Bey Machmudin; Former Head of West Java Prosecutor's Office, Asep Mulyana; and Professor of Padjadjaran University Bandung, Keri Lestari.

"There are three names (proposals) from the DPRD. First is Prof. Keri from Unpad, Bey Machmudin from the Palace Press Bureau, because he is also in school and is big in Bandung, the third is former West Java Kajati Asep Mulyana," said RK.

RK was reluctant to comment on three candidates from the West Java DPRD who had the potential to continue his leadership.

Previously, Deputy Chairperson of West Java DPRD Achmad Ru'yat said that his party was now waiting for the proposal of three other names from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) before it was determined by President Joko Widodo who would be the Acting Governor of West Java.

Achmad Ru'yat also confirmed that he would immediately send a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs to be followed up. He hopes that anyone who is appointed as the Acting Governor can carry out his role and function to the maximum.

"We hope that until later the West Java Pilkada, the acting figure of the Governor of West Java can carry out his tasks in truth and optimally," he concluded.
