Prabowo Receives Saudi Arabian Defense Minister Visit, Strengthens Defense Cooperation

JAKARTA - Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto received a visit from the Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Prince Khalid Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, and a delegation at the Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) office, Jakarta.

This official visit is a historic moment that is expected to strengthen bilateral relations and defense cooperation between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia that has been established since 2014 through the Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA).

"It is hoped that relations in the defense sector between the two countries will be stronger and develop rapidly," said Defense Minister Prabowo, quoted from a written statement, Tuesday, August 1.

During the meeting, Defense Minister Prabowo expressed his belief Saudi Arabia could realize the 2030 Vision and hoped that the Indonesian defense industry could become part of the vision.

In the discussion of the defense industry, the Saudi Arabian delegation received an explanation from the President Director of PT LEN Industri, PT Pindad, PT Dirgantara Indonesia, PT PAL Indonesia, and PT Dahana.

RI and Saudi Arabia are also committed to strengthening cooperation in education through student exchanges between the two armed forces institutions.
