Zumi Zola Claims He Doesn't Know A Witness in the Ratification Bribery Case Who Committed Suicide

JAKARTA - The former Governor of Jambi, Zumi Zola, claimed that he did not know Muhmmad Immanudin alias Iim, who was a key witness in the bribery case of knocking on the hammer for ratifying the Jambi Province RAPBD. He didn't even know Iim was dead.

He conveyed this after being questioned by KPK investigators today, Tuesday, August 1. He was examined as a witness in the ratification bribery case.

"I personally don't know him," Zumi told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

Zumi admitted that he knew Immanudin during the trial of this case. He claims he never had contact with the person before the trial began.

"After the trial, he knew, and the deceased said 'look at me twice' like that. One of them was when someone died, he was there. So there was no contact," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding his examination, Zumi is being investigated on the matter of kick-knock bribery. There was no difference from the previous question because he had repeatedly been questioned regarding the cases that had ensnared him.

"Just the same. 'according to the previous one?' I said appropriate," said Zumi.

For information, Muhammad Immanudin, was found hanging himself in his house. He was a witness in the alleged bribery case involving former Jambi Governor Zumi Zola Zulkifli.

Responding to this, KPK Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur said the handling of cases would not stop. Information search can be done to other parties.

"There are still witnesses and other evidence," said Asep through a written statement, Friday, June 16.

Whereas in the bribery case of tapping the hammer on the Jambi Province RAPBD, the KPK only arrested former Jambi DPRD member Kusnindar on Monday, July 24. He will stay behind bars until August 12 and can be extended according to the needs of investigators.

The Kusnindar case is an extension of the previous case that ensnared former Jambi Governor Zumi Zola. In total there were 28 suspects named as suspects by the KPK.

The KPK suspects the suspects received bribes of around IDR 100 million to IDR 400 million. The aim is to pass the draft budget in Jambi Province.
