PAPUA - The West Papua High Prosecutor's Office is still waiting for the results of the calculation of state losses (PKN) from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) related to the alleged corruption case of grant funds for the implementation of the West Papua Provincial Catholic Youth Congress. "If there is a result, we will immediately determine the suspect. Hopefully the results will come out quickly," said Assistant for Special Crimes (Aspidsus) at the West Papua High Prosecutor's Office Abun Hasbullah Syambas in Manokwari, quoted from Antara, Monday, July 31. The number of witnesses who have been examined in the alleged corruption case of grant funds for the implementation of the West Papua Catholic Youth congress reached 50 people. Witnesses examined were like the former Chairman of West Papua Catholic Youth, local committee, and several members of Catholic youth at the regional and regional levels. "There are only a few more people who need to be checked. Their location is far away," said Abun Syambas. He said the grant budget came from the 2021 West Papua Province Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) worth IDR 3 billion. The congress was supposed to be held in West Papua, but was diverted to Semarang, Central Java and the budget has been disbursed 100 percent by the local committee. "We are constrained by the number of members of only seven people with many cases being handled," said Abun Syambas. According to him, the Head of the West Papua Prosecutor's Office, Harli Siregar, is committed to resolving a number of special criminal cases that are still pending. This means that the performance of the Adhyaksa corps as one of the law enforcement institutions, works optimally according to the expectations of the people in West Papua.
