1 West Kalimantan Provincial Government ASN And 3 Private Parties Become Corruption Suspects For Sambas Waterfront Renovation Project

The West Kalimantan High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has named four suspects for corruption (tipikor) for the Sambas watersfront renovation project. "Four suspects in the Tipikor case for the Sambas watersfront renovation project that has been determined, namely ES, which is an ASN for the West Kalimantan Provincial Government, then J, H and S from the private sector," said West Kalimantan Attorney General's Adpidsus Bambang Yuniarto Ekoputro in Pontianak, quoted from Antara, Monday, July 24. He explained that from the case based on the calculation of the West Kalimantan Provincial Inspectorate there was a state loss of Rp1.8 billion. The waterfront renovation project right in front of the Alwatzikoebillah Palace will be carried out in 2022. "Until now, four suspects have not been detained and have just been determined. For others, further investigations are still being carried out and the investigation process. If there are other suspects, they will convey them again," he explained. Regarding other corruption cases in West Kalimantan, namely the procurement of clean water in Mempawah Regency. The case has been handled and decided by the Corruption Court. However, currently there are still legal remedies from the defendant. "There are three defendants in the case. In that case there is a legal process, namely an appeal from the defendant. In the future, if there is a decision, we will still convey it again," he explained. Meanwhile, for the performance of handling the People's Wanted List (DPO), the West Kalimantan Prosecutor's Office Muhammad Yusuf said that from January to July 2023 two people had been handled. While the other 13 DPOs are still in the search process.

"In the previous year there were 28 people with DPO security. Now, this year from January 2023 until now there have been two DPOs. It is difficult to secure the DPO, namely changes to the DPO mobile phone number which is difficult to track," he explained.
