Passengers Want To Depart Early, Transjakarta Adjusts The Bus Schedule To Soetta Airport

JAKARTA - Director of Operations and Safety of PT Transjakarta Daud Joseph said that his party adjusted the operational schedule for the bus to Soekarno-Hatta Airport during the ongoing trial period.

Initially, the Transjakarta bus route from Kalideres Terminal to Soetta Airport began operating with a headway every 20 minutes from 06.00 WIB to 09.00 WIB in the morning and at 18.00 WIB to 21.00 WIB at night.

Apparently, during the trial period, many customers who were airport workers asked for the departure time to be moved forward an hour earlier because they were late for work if they left at 06.00 WIB.

This was revealed based on the results of a survey conducted by Transjakarta on bus customers to Soetta.

"So, if we just started singing from the directs there at 07.00, they are too late. So, we ask for approval and are instructed by the Transportation Agency and BPTJ to be moved to 05.00 am," Joseph told reporters, Wednesday, July 19.

When the bus's operating hours were pushed forward, Joseph said that his party also adjusted the deadline for completing service in the morning to 08.30 WIB.

Likewise with operating hours in the afternoon and evening. Customers, in the survey, also ask for operational time to be accelerated starting at 16.00 WIB.

"They asked to be pushed forward at 04.00 in the afternoon, starting from the airport to the rivers. Finally, yesterday it was also instructed to us at 04.00 in the afternoon that we had started serving until that night at 08.00 pm," explained Joseph.

Since the start of trials on July 4, Transjakarta has recorded an average of 700 bus customers with routes to Soetta Airport per day. In total over the past two weeks, Transjakarta has served 10 thousand passengers.

"The busiest ones are from 06.00 am to 08.00 am. Of the 700 people, 400 are in the morning. Then, the 300 people are from 18.00 to 20.00 WIB," explained Joseph.

It is known that TransJakarta operates 10 low-deck (low entry) buses for the Soekarno Hatta-Terminal Kalideres Airport route with a passenger transport capacity of 2,500 people every day.

With a capacity of one bus of 60 passengers, in a day the TransJakarta bus bound for Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) to Kalideres Terminal can carry up to 2,500 passengers.

The travel time from Kalideres to Soetta Airport is estimated to be a maximum of 45 minutes for one trip.
