Director General Of Immigration Asks Staff To Be More Responsive In Supervising Foreigners In Bali

DENPASAR - Director General (Dirjen) of Immigration Silmy Karim asked his staff to be more responsive in supervising foreign nationals (WNA) in Bali, following the many immigration violations.

"We must always be responsive to what happens in society, be it complaints that are officially reported or that go viral on social media," said Silmy Karim on the sidelines of the Immigration Festival (Imifest) in Denpasar as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 18.

Intensive cooperation with local governments and law enforcement is also needed so that these foreigners obey and respect cultural values, especially in Bali.

He explained that Immigration has an important role in Bali in capturing and taking action against immigration violations to support quality foreigners.

Not only that, Immigration is also a doorstop in preventing the entry of potential threats of crime to terrorism in Indonesia.

For this reason, through the immigration festival, he hopes to be a forum for dissemination of networked and collaborative immigration policies.

Meanwhile, the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Bali Province, apart from intensifying surveillance of foreigners, also printed cards containing restrictions and obligations that must be obeyed by foreigners.

In addition to spreading the appeal, Immigration in Bali also made a barcode which could be scanned via cell phone at immigration checkpoints at Ngurah Rai Airport.

Based on records from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Bali Province, Immigration on the Island of the Gods from January to July 11, 2023, deported 178 foreigners from various countries in the world.

Meanwhile, since the international door was reopened in Bali from May 2022 to December 2022, deportations from Indonesian territory through Bali reached 194 people.

Naughty foreigners who are subject to sanctions include abusing residence permits, violating visas, passing residence permits and criminal acts to violating the norms and legal rules in force in Indonesia.
