Panji Gumilang Kembali Dipolisikan, Kini Soal Dugaan Penyeleweakan Zakat

JAKARTA - The head of the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, Panji Gumilang, has been policed again. This time, Panji was reported on suspicion of misappropriating zakat funds.

The report was carried out by the Indramayu Sue Forum (FIM) at the Indramayu Police, on Monday, July 17, yesterday.

"Received a complaint from the ASM representative from the Indramayu Sue Forum (FIM) to Al Zaytun's brother PG (Panji Gumilang)," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Tuesday, July 18.

In the report, there were two preliminary pieces of evidence attached in the form of screenshot photos. The evidence will be investigated to prove the allegations reported.

"Screenshot in the Democracy Records event broadcast by National TV on the event with the female sister of LS as the former guardian of the Santri Al Zaytun," continued Ramadhan.

With the report, continued Ramadhan, the Indramayu Police are said to be coordinating with the Ministry of Religion. In addition, the investigative team will also look for other evidence with the Directorate General of Islamic Binmas of the Ministry of Religion.

"The follow-up plan that will be carried out is to hold a coordination meeting with the Ministry of Religion and the Regional Office regarding the mechanism for BOS funds, to conduct an interview with the Directorate General of Islamic Community Guidance of the Ministry of Religion regarding Amil Zakat," he said.

In addition, an examination of someone with the initials AS will also be carried out. He is a Jakarta branch fundraiser from the National Children's Intelligence Foundation affiliated with APG.

"The Indramayu Police will carry out further coordination with the West Java Police Ditreskrimsus and carry out an in-depth investigation of evidence of misuse of zakat," said Ramadhan.

Previously, Panji Gumilang was reported on suspicion of blasphemy. The case is being handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.

The status of the case has also been upgraded to the investigation stage. However, until now no suspect has been named.
