Attending Jurkam Training The Winning Team, Ganjar Pranowo Leaves Half A Day

JAKARTA - The presidential candidate (candidate) from the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Ganjar Pranowo said he took half a day off to attend the training of his winning team (jurkam) campaigner in the 2024 presidential election today, Monday 17 July.

"Yes, I had a meeting with the Coordinating Minister for half a day, half a day I have prepared a permit and I have sent it to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Ministry of Home Affairs). So, I quite know the rules," said Ganjar to the media crew after giving a speech at the jurkam training for his winning team at iNews Tower, Central Jakarta, Monday, July 17, which was confiscated by Antara.

Based on observations, Ganjar entered the training room at around 14.05 WIB and attended the opening of the jurkam training which was opened by the Acting General Chairperson of PPP Muhamad Mardiono.

Previously, Ganjar Pranowo stated that he took the time off to carry out political safaris and consolidate party cadres in the regions.

Ganjar explained that he deliberately chose the holiday time because on weekdays he had to carry out his duties as Governor of Central Java (Central Java).

"Because I am still governor, of course I have to distinguish between time, main tasks and function, so on holidays, God willing, I will walk (political safaris), but the rest I am still assigned to clean up my homework in Central Java," said Ganjar when met after attending a meeting between the PDIP leadership and PPP at the PDIP DPP Office, Jakarta, Sunday 30 April.

According to the KPU schedule, registration for presidential and vice presidential candidates will start from October 19 to November 25, 2023.

Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections (UU Pemilu) regulates that pairs of presidential/vice-presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in elections that meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of valid votes nationally in the previous election for members of the DPR.

Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that the presidential/vice presidential candidate pair in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in support from the Indonesian House of Representatives. Candidate pairs can also be promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election, with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
