Palu District Court Ready To Trial Bank Sulteng Corruption Case, Loss Of IDR 7 Billion

PALU - Class 1 A PHI District Court (PN) / Palu corruption crime action ready to conduct trial in the alleged corruption case of the Central Sulawesi Regional Development Bank (BPD) or Central Sulawesi Bank with PT Bina Arta Prima (BAP) 2017-2021.

"The trial against the suspect will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023," said spokesman or judge of the PHI/Tipikor/Palu Class 1 District Court, Zaufi Amri in Palu, quoted by ANTARA Monday, July 10.

He stated that the trial of the suspect was based on the case file received by his party from the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Palu District Attorney (Kejari) on Thursday last week.

In the case of alleged credit marketing corruption, pre-retirement and pension, the collaboration between Bank Sulteng and PT BAP in 2017-2021 was taxed to cost the state finances around IDR 7 billion, and by judges the chairman of the panel was different.

Previously, the Central Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) previously handled four suspects, namely the former Director of Bank Sulteng, commissioner and former Director of PT Bina Artha Prima, former Head of the Central Sulawesi Bank Credit Division (Kadiv).

"The four suspects are suspected of jointly committing a criminal act of corruption of approximately Rp. 7 billion based on the results of an audit by the Central Sulawesi Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) Number: PE 03/SR-154/PW19/5/2022 dated August 26, 2022," he said.

Currently, the four suspects are being held at the Class IIA Palu detention center (Rutan) to carry out the legal process after the commissioner of PT BAP initials AN was executed by prosecutors at his residence in the Belagio Rasiden Tower B Apartment Number 14 Kuningan Timur Setia Budi, South Jakarta on Monday 30 January.

AN, is the last suspect executed by the prosecutor, of the three suspects who were detained first by the Central Sulawesi Attorney General's Office.

"After the case file has been handled by the Attorney General's Office (P21), investigators have transferred it to the Palu Kejari, then transferred it to the court for the trial process," said Zaufi.
