The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police is said to have formed a team in investigating hundreds of accounts belonging to the head of the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, Panji Gumilang. Later, the team will also coordinate with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).

"Yes, it is part of Bareskrim's task, later there will be a team formed, there is a task for each of them who must coordinate with PPATK, for example," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Sandi Nugroho to reporters quoted on Saturday, July 8.

However, for now, investigations into the flow of funds and ownership of partners have not been carried out. This is because the reports received are still related to allegations of blasphemy.

"It will depend on the results of the information taken by Bareskrim. Because until now there is still one," he said.

Moreover, there is a lot of information circulating in the community regarding the alleged violations committed by Panji Gumilang. So, investigators will verify the truth first.

"And there is a lot of information from the public, be it through online media, other social media, it can all be used as material for verification," said Sandi.

As a reminder, Bareskrim raised the status of the alleged blasphemy case to an investigation. Some time ago, Panji Gumilang was also investigated as the reported party.

The head of the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School is said to have acknowledged all his statements circulating in the form of videos.

Meanwhile, from one of the videos circulating on social media, Panji Gumilang said that the Qur'an was a essay by the Prophet Muhammad.
