LPSK Determines The Restitution Value Of The Case Of Persecution David Ozora Of More Than IDR 100 Billion

JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has determined the value of compensation or restitution in the case of David Ozora's persecution with the defendants Mario Dandy Satrio and Shane Lukas worth more than Rp. 100 billion. This value is based on the calculation of medical expenses and so on.

"For the amount of restitution, it's more than Rp. 100 billion," said Deputy Chairperson of LPSK Susilaningtyas to VOI, Wednesday, June 14.

The basis for determining the value of restitution refers to the cost of a quota that has been incurred by the family when David Ozora is undergoing treatment at the hospital for almost two months.

There are also consumption and transportation costs incurred by the family while accompanying David Ozora to undergo medical treatment.

Not to forget, LPSK also includes the cost of rehabilitation or therapy of David Ozora for life. Because, said Susi, from coordinating with the medical team, Jonathan Latumahina's son really needed it.

"The cost of losing income. So his parents during David's tenure lost their income because they focused on taking care of David," said Susi.

On the other hand, LPSK has coordinated with the public prosecutor (JPU) regarding the value of the restitution. However, it is acknowledged that the communication is not yet official.

In the near future LPSK will write to the prosecutor to include the restitution value in the lawsuit file.

"But the value of the restitution can still change. Later we will see what impact I will have on the case of abuse on my family and David," said Susi.

David Ozora was persecuted by Mario Dandy Satriyo in front of the Grand Permata cluster complex, Boulevard Kel. Ulujami, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, on Monday 20 February 20, 2023 at around 20.30 WIB.

As a result of the persecution, David suffered injuries to his entire body. In fact, he fell into a coma for up to two weeks.

Meanwhile, David's father, Jonathan Latumahina, stated that he did not really think about compensation or restitution for his son.

The reason is that compensation in the form of money will not be comparable to what has been experienced by David. Except, the perpetrators of the persecution were also in a coma.

"Because for me, I don't think about values and others. Nothing is comparable except for the perpetrators being carried out the same, making a coma is only comparable to my opinion," said Jonathan when testifying at trial.
