4.7 Meter Crocodile Caught Fisherman In Gorontalo, BKSDA Asked To Immediately Evacuate

GORONTALO - A 4.7 meter long crocodile and one meter wide was caught by fishermen in Hulapa Pantai Hamlet, Bulalo Village, Kwandang District, North Gorontalo, Gorontalo Province. "The crocodile was found by fishermen in our village, his name is Daeng Ical. He is a fisherman who owns a trawler who went to sea at around 05.30 WITA. The location of the discovery is not far from Hulapa Beach," said Bulalo Village Head Fiti K. Rahim in Gorontalo, Antara, Wednesday, June 7. Crocodiles that size shocked and scared the fishermen. Suddenly, Daeng Ical called another fisherman. The fear and ignorance of the residents of how to secure this crocodile, said Fiti, made them choose to move the crocodile to land with the intention of being rescued. Moreover, the crocodile was found in a stationary condition. The high level of fishing activities carried out by residents of Hulapa Pantai Hamlet, said Fiti, made fishermen take the initiative to secure crocodiles by moving them ashore to be immediately evacuated by competent parties, so as not to take victims.

"The movement of crocodiles is carried out with great care to prevent unwanted things. It is transported from sea to land, by tying the mouth and feet of crocodiles. We have contacted the Gorontalo Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA), to evacuate these crocodiles to a safe place. This is important because the crocodile size is very large and it is feared that it will become a spectacle for residents who can interfere with the comfort of these animals," said Fiti.
