Clashes In Yogyakarta, PSHT Silat Universities And PSIM Supporters Agree To Make Peace

YOGYAKARTA - The Pencak Silat Brotherhood of the Setia Hati Terate (PSHT) with the Brajamusti group involved in clashes in Yogyakarta last night agreed to make peace.

The agreement was conveyed by representatives of PSHT and Brajamusti administrators, supporters of the PSIM football club, at the Yogyakarta Regional Police Headquarters, Yogyakarta, Monday, June 5.

"Regarding last night's issue, we and Brajamusti have agreed to make peace with each other, there is no problem," said PSHT Bantul Branch Chair Tri Jaka Santosa, confiscated by Antara.

Tri Jaka, on that occasion, apologized to the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X and DIY residents for the chaos involving its members.

"I'm really sorry because this is beyond our ability and I've tried to stem the problem in the jurisdiction of Yogyakarta, but I can't control it, maybe this is His will," he said.

He said that PSHT and Brajamusti were actually brothers, so that the riots between the two parties should not have happened.

According to him, not a few members of PSHT have joined as supporters of Brajamusti.

"Together, brother, because they all took shelter in PSHT and took shelter in Brajamusti. For that, once again I apologize to my brothers, the Blajamusti management and all the residents of Brajamusti. I apologize profusely," he said.

Tri Jaka asked all PSHT members both in Yogyakarta and in other areas not to carry out activities that could trigger chaos in the "Kota Gudeg".

"Don't mess with Yogyakarta with unwanted activities," he said.

Meanwhile, the Legal Bureau of PSIM Supporters, Brajamusti Baskoro stated that apart from making peace, Brajamusti and PSHT agreed to establish brotherhood forever.

"On this occasion, we want to convey that we have all reconciled, we have all agreed to'saklawase' (brotherhood forever)," he said accompanied by President Brajamusti Muslich Thole Burhanudin.

He asked all members of Brajamusti to be calm and able to cool the atmosphere.

"After all, PSHT is Blajamusti. Brajamusti is PSHT," he said.

Previously, a brawl between the two groups of masses occurred on Kenari Street, Yogyakarta City at 17.00 WIB, then spread on Jalan Taman Siswa Kota Yogyakarta from 18.00 to 21.00 WIB.

Police recorded as many as nine people were injured as a result of the incident.

The Yogyakarta Regional Police are still investigating the case and securing 352 people so that they do not become victims or perpetrators of the riots.

Head of Public Relations of the Yogyakarta Regional Police, Kombes Pol. Nugroho Arianto explained that the friction between the two mass groups, namely PSHT and the Brajamusti supporters group was motivated by the case that previously occurred at Villa Rangdo Parangdok, Parangtritis, Bantul Regency on May 28, 2023.

In the case in Bantul, he said, one of the PSHT sympathizers was persecuted by a number of people suspected of being Blajamusti sympathizers.

He said that the case had been handled by the Bantul Police and that three suspects had been named.

Based on information from the Yogyakarta Regional Police, on Sunday, June 4, the PSHT group from the East Region moved from the Prambanan East to the Bantul Police, intending to ask the truth about the determination of the three suspects.

However, the PSHT group convoy journey changed direction towards the mess or guesthouse of the Brajamusti group and led to the city of Yogyakarta, resulting in clashes.

"Last night's incident was throwing stones at each other between the PH (PSHT) group and the BI (Brajasmusti) group, causing the surrounding community to participate in this," said the Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Yogyakarta Regional Police, Kombes Pol. Nuredy Irwansyah Putra.
