The Ecstasy Factory In The Semarang City Settlement Area Was Raided By The Police

SEMARANG - Police revealed the existence of an ecstasy drug factory located in the residential area of Jalan Kauman Barat V, Pedurungan, Semarang City, Central Java.

Deputy Chief of the Central Java Regional Police Brigadier General Abiyoso Senoaji said two suspects were arrested in the disclosure of an ecstasy factory which is a network with similar disclosures in Tangerang, Banten.

The two suspects with the initials MR (28) and ARD (24), both residents of Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, act as chefs who mix materials and serve as ecstasy printers.

"These two suspects came to Semarang on the orders of someone whose identity is still being investigated," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 2.

According to Abiyoso, the place used to produce ecstasy is a house that has been contracted since April 2023.

The two suspects came to Semarang since May 19, 2023. Along with the arrival of the two suspects, a package containing raw materials and ecstasy printing equipment also came.

The Deputy Chief of Police explained that the disclosure of this case began with a Customs and Excise report on the arrival of suspicious chemicals from abroad.

From this information, the police then traced the purpose of sending chemicals that were not available in Indonesia.

In addition to arresting the two suspects, the police also secured various evidences of 10,903 ecstasy pills of various types and ecstasy raw materials with a total of 53.44 kilograms.

"The ecstasy that has been printed has not been circulated yet," said the Deputy Chief of Police.

Abiyoso added that based on the results of the examination by the Central Java Police Forensic Laboratory, the thousands of ecstasy pills contained methamphetamine and amphetamine substances.

The Deputy Chief of Police appealed to the public to increase awareness regarding drug trafficking in their area. "If you get the slightest information, immediately convey it to the authorities," he added.
