Dispar Gunungkidul Targets 54,438 Tourists During Long Holidays

GUNUNGKIDUL - The Gunungkidul Regency Tourism Office, Yogyakarta Special Region, targets 54,438 tourists during the long holiday, 1-4 June 2023, with local revenue of Rp407 million.

Acting Head of the Gunungkidul Tourism Office (Dispar) Harry said that during this long holiday, there was a potential spike in tourist visits.

"During this long holiday, we are targeting 54,438 tourists," said Harry Sukmono as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 1. From the total target of the visit, the original regional revenue (PAD) is projected to be IDR 407.7 million. PAD comes from tourism levies.

Harry said there were special preparations made to anticipate the surge in tourist visits. Preparations involve various elements such as the Police, TNI, SAR, Transportation Service, to Satpol-PP.

"To anticipate congestion at the retribution collection site, we deployed 75 personnel for security during the long holiday," he said.

Harry Sukmono said the majority of tourists entering Gunungkidul visit the beach. The beaches on Gunungkidul are more than 70 kilometers long, stretching from east to west. Tourists have many choices to enjoy the beach atmosphere that suits their desired.

"The majority of tourists vacation to the beach, about 90 percent," he said.

Koordinator TPR Baron Sumarja mengatakan ada peningkatan kunjungan pada hari ini. Namun belum signifikan."Kalau dibandingkan hari biasa jelas lebih ramai, tapi ini kondisinya masih wajar," katanya.

Sumarja estimates that there will be 3 thousand tourists up to 16.00 WIB. However, this figure is only for tourists who pass through the TPR Baron. They come from various regions such as Central Java and East Java.

"Not including tourists passing through the JJLS TPR and Tepus TPR," he said.
