Kumpul Change Coalition In Paloh House In Thousand Islands, Show Solidity

Chairman of the NasDem Party DPP Taufik Basari said the meeting of top political parties for the Coalition for Change (KPP) at the residence of Nasdem Party Chairman Surya Paloh on Friday (26/5) showed solidity to continue joint political steps in the 2024 election.

"It shows that this coalition is still very solid and we are certainly ready to continue the next steps. So nothing has changed regarding this coalition, and we are even more solid to move forward," Taufik said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 31.

He said the meeting discussed the steps for the KPP to be taken in the future, including providing support to the NasDem Party.

The reason, he said, was that the former Secretary General of the NasDem Party as well as the Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate was named a suspect in the alleged corruption case of the 4G BTS infrastructure supply project and supporting infrastructure on Wednesday (17/5).

"The meeting was more about a meeting that wanted to convey support and sympathy to the NasDem Party, as well as discussing the steps to be taken by the coalition," he said.

In addition, the meeting also discussed the current situation and condition of democracy in Indonesia, as well as how KPP's attitude in dealing with the dynamics of problems that have arisen in recent times.

The member of Commission III of the DPR did not deny that the meeting discussed the figure of a candidate for vice president (cawapres) who would accompany Anies Baswedan.

"So there are many things, which are also cawapres and so on as well as part of points that might be discussed at that time," he said.

Taufik also emphasized that as the joint decision of the coalition, the decisions and announcements regarding the KPP vice presidential candidate will be submitted to Anies Baswedan.

"This is our appreciation to the presidential candidate that we are indeed carrying so that we can then determine the vice presidential candidate and then it is he who will later convey it to the public, the plan is like that," he said.

The meeting was quite complete because it was attended by high-ranking officials of each KPP member, namely the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY).

Then, he continued, PKS was present by PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu, Chairman of the PKS Shura Council Salim Segaf Aljufri, Deputy Chairman of the PKS Shura Council Sohibul Iman, Chairman of the PKS DPP Al Muzzammil Yusuf, and several other PKS officials.

Apart from himself, Taufik said that the NasDem Party was also present with the Acting Secretary General (Sekjen) of the NasDem Party, Hermawi Taslim, Chairman of the NasDem Party DPP Sugeng Suparwoto.

Separately, PKS DPP chairman Al Muzzammil Yusuf said the meeting of KPP political party officials on Friday (26/5) was held at Surya Paloh's private residence located in the Thousand Islands, DKI Jakarta.

"Yes, this is a meeting last week at the location of the Thousand Islands, the location belongs to Pak Surya Paloh," said Muzzammil.

He said the meeting discussed a number of things, among others related to the future of KPP.

"God willing, we will be solid to move forward. Hopefully, the candidate pair from the three (political parties) of the Coalition for Change for Unity will soon be realized," he said.
