Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Fires Pekanbaru Detention Center Employees For Bringing 5 Grams Of Shabu

RIAU - The Riau Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office Code of Ethics Council decided that Pekanbaru Class I State Detention Center employees with the initials YNS should file a dishonorable dismissal at their own request because they were found guilty of bringing methamphetamine into the detention center. "The code of ethics assembly found YNS guilty of violating the provisions of the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Number: M.HH.16.KP.05.02 of 2011 concerning the Code of Ethics of Correctional Employees," said Chairman of the Ethics Council of the Riau Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office Mulyadi as well as Head of the Correctional Division of the Riau Ministry of Law and Human Rights in a statement in Pekanbaru, Antara, Wednesday, May 31. Mulyadi chaired the trial with Indra Sofyan as Coordinator of Internal Compliance and Evaluation of the Directorate General of Corrections, and Subakdo Wulandoro as Head of Detention, Health Rehabilitation, Management of Baran Basis, Security of the Riau Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office. The trial took place behind closed doors in the meeting room of the Rumbai Class IIB Narcotics Correctional Institution. The dishonorable dismissal or dismissal of YNS as ASN was carried out after undergoing trial for alleged violations of the code of ethics. "Before being tried, YNS had been arrested along with 5 grams of methamphetamine-type narcotics on September 22, 2022 by the Pekanbaru Police Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satnarkoba)," he said. Mulyadi said the panel also handed down a decision on moral sanctions to YNS by giving an open statement in the form of a letter to their direct superiors which was read out during the morning rally. "In response to recent prison reports that have gone viral with drug trafficking or showing off assets, I ask all ranks not to repeat themselves. I remind you not to get bored, don't play with drugs. War on drugs is a fixed price," said Head of the Riau Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office Mhd. Jahari Sitepu. For employees who are still involved, he asked from now on to stop playing drugs. "There is no bargaining, the recommendation of the Kakanwil (to the center) for those who are still playing drugs is to be fired. It has been proven that several prison/rutan officers were fired for being traitors to the organization by smuggling drugs, both inside and outside prisons/rutans," he said.

Kakanwil then reminded again about the three keys to advanced correctional that were echoed by the Director General of Corrections, Reynhard Silitonga, namely early detection of security and order disturbances, eradication of illicit drug trafficking, and synergy with other law enforcement officers. "If these three keys to advanced prisons are carried out as well as possible, all problems in prisons and detention centers can be resolved properly," explained Jahari Sitepu.
