Denpom Jaya Appoints Prada MW As A Hit And Run Suspect Who Killed The Couple

JAKARTA - The Jaya 2/Cintung Military Police Detachment (Denpom) officially named Prada MW as a suspect in a hit-and-run on Jalan Raya Kampung Sawah, Pondok Melati, Bekasi City which killed husband and wife, Sonder Simbolon and Tiurmaida.

"Prada MW, we snared 3 articles, namely Article 310 Paragraph (4) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 22, Article 312 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 22 of 2009 and Article 531 of the Criminal Code. The suspect neglected to leave people dying," said Denpom Jaya Commander 2/Cintung Lt. Col. Cpm Pandi Rahana during a press conference at Denpom Jaya 2/Cintung Headquarters, East Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 10.

The threat of punishment, he said, was a maximum of 6 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 12 million.

Meanwhile, Danpomdam Jaya Colonel Cpm Irsyad Hamdie Bey Anwar explained that apart from being criminally punished, the suspect also has the potential to receive additional administrative sanctions.

"It is possible that the person concerned will undergo additional legal sanctions, after which it is decided that there will be an administrative sanction or code of ethics," said Irsyad.

Regarding the potential sanctions for Disrespectful Dismissal (PTDH), Irsyad did not explain in detail because it depended on the judge's consideration when deciding the case.

"The judge decided, if asked if there were additional penalties such as dismissal and others, we will see in the court's decision," he said.

The incident occurred on Thursday (4/5) at around 07.30 WIB when Prada MW, who was using a Nissan X-trail, escorted Danbrig 14's daughter's school (Letkol Inf Mario Kristian Noya) at Strada Elementary School.

When returning to Danbrig 14's residence at Perum The Grandika Cibubur, approximately 300 meters from the school, an accident occurred. The vehicle driven by Prada MW crashed into a Honda Beat motorcycle driven by Sonder Simbolon riding with his wife Tiurmaida from the opposite direction. The two victims died at the scene.
