Police Continue To Search Fund Suppliers To KKB

JAYAPURA - Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri emphasized that his members will continue to explore the supplier of funds to the KKB, be it civilians or officials or ASN.

Inspector General Fakhiri said members were continuing to investigate fund assistance to the KKB because it was alleged that many funds were channeled to help the KKB.

"Currently, investigators are still investigating the Head of the Kenyam MM (37 years) District," said the Kapolda, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 10.

He said the investigation of MM was currently centered by Timika after previously being flown from Kenyam, Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains.

There are several officials who are indicated to help the KKB, especially to help with funds and that continues to be investigated.

"Hopefully the suppliers of funds to the KKB can be immediately arrested because they will take firm action against those who help the group," said the Papuan Police Chief.

Meanwhile, Head of the Cartenz Peace Task Force, Kombes Faizal Rahmadani, separately admitted that MM was arrested in April 2023 and is now undergoing further examination in Timika.

Regarding MM's involvement, Faizal said, there were indications that he supplied ammunition for the KKB so that the police arrested him.

"The arrest of MM was carried out because previously there were indications of involvement in helping to fund the Nduga KKB for the purchase of weapons and ammunition," said Faizal.
