Arab Citizen Who Blocked Ambulance In Bogor Sanctioned

BOGOR - Bogor City Police, West Java, sanctioned a foreign national (WNA) from Saudi Arabia with the initials HTM as a black Avanza driver with police number F 1355 FAG who blocked the ambulance while delivering the patient.

Bogor City Police Chief Kombes Bismo Teguh Prakoso said HTM perpetrators must be enforced and obey these sanctions.

"The case of foreigners driving black Avanza who obstructed the ambulance, we are processing further according to the applicable laws and regulations, namely Law Number 22 of 2009 article 287 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation with the threat of a maximum imprisonment of one month or a fine of Rp. 250 thousand," Bismo said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 8.

The Bogor City Police Traffic Unit immediately sent a confirmation letter to the Bogor City Immigration Office as a notification for further handling. Bismo explained that the perpetrators were obliged to carry out the sanctions.

"And from these sanctions we will inform Bogor City Immigration for further handling," he added.

HTM blocked the speed of the ambulance carrying patients on Jalan Semeru Pasar Merdeka to the Bogor City Hospital on Thursday (4/5). Based on the video circulating on social media, the Bogor City Police Traffic Unit summoned HTM for questioning.

To the officers, HTM admitted that he had no intention of obstructing the ambulance. HTM admitted that at that time it was confused because the car he was driving was grabbed by a motorbike. At that time, HTM admitted that he did not know that the motorbike was an ambulance driver.

HTM then intended to chase the motorbike because the left side of the road was also full of parked vehicles, so he could not stop his vehicle immediately at that time.

Seeing that the HTM car did not stop or block the ambulance, said Bismo, the driver or passenger of the ambulance was emotional, so there was an argument with HTM.

Bismo emphasized that the sanctions process would still be given to HTM according to the procedure.

"Yes, there was a meeting of the wishes of both parties, but we are still in the process according to applicable regulations," he said.
