Traffic Accidents In Lampung During Eid 2023 Decreased

Lampung Police recorded a decrease in the number of traffic accidents (laka) during the homecoming moment and the backflow of Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri or the implementation of Operation Ketupat Krakatau 2023.

"We note that the accident during Operation Ketupat Krakatau 2023 was only 60 incidents, down when compared to 2022 which amounted to 69 incidents," said Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Police, Kombes Pol Zahwani Pandra Arsyad, in Bandarlampung, Wednesday.

He said that since Operation Ketupat Krakatau started from April 18 to May 1, 2023, of the 60 accidents in it there were 16 people who died while 51 people died and 58 people were lightly injured.

"The total material loss is estimated at IDR 343,900,000, in this year's ketupat operation," he said.

Meanwhile, he continued, in Operation Ketupat Krakatau in 2022 from 69 accidents, there were 24 people who died, 50 people were seriously injured, while 68 people were slightly injured and Rp287,950,000 in material losses.

"So when compared to the accident rate this year, it could be said that it will decrease by 2022," he said.

According to him, the Lampung Regional Police in the 2023 Krakatau ketupat operation involving elements of the TNI, local governments and stakeholders have made maximum efforts to provide security and service for homecoming flow and then backflow of Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri so that it can run well, safely and memorablely.

"The Lampung Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pol Helmy Santika, also expressed his gratitude for his cooperation with elements of the TNI, Regional Government and stakeholders involved in carrying out Operation Ketupat Krakatau 2023 running safely, comfortably and memorablely," he said.
