Dismissing Political Issues, KPK Ensures Independent And Brush Corruptors Without Seeing Their Background

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) ensures that it will work optimally to eradicate the riots. Corrupt officials will be dealt with regardless of their background, including the political party that houses them.

This was conveyed by the Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri in response to the circulating issue if the anti-corruption commission interfered in political contestation. He said the institution was independent and would not be influenced by any intervention in accordance with Law Number 19 of 2019.

"KPK is in accordance with the mandate of the law that in carrying out the task of eradicating corruption it is independent, without being influenced or intervened by any party," Ali said in a written statement, Thursday, April 27.

"At all (the action was carried out, ed) without seeing the background of the perpetrators. Including from any political party element," he continued.

Ali ensured that the investigation of corruption cases currently being carried out was also in accordance with the pocketed evidence. The public can check the data of the perpetrators of corruption through the KPK website.

"In addition to the efforts to take action, the KPK is also intensely making efforts to prevent corruption by encouraging improvements in governance to all political parties, not only to certain political parties," he said.

The KPK understands that in this year's politics they will be affected. In fact, there is an incorrect opinion that certain parties are trying to exhale who do not like its performance.

"However, we consider this a form of public supervision of the work of eradicating corruption. As this has been experienced by the KPK in previous years in the cycle of the political year," he concluded.
