Opera Concert Remembers Maria Callas Held October 7 At Ciputra Artpreneur Theater

JAKARTA - Jakarta Concert Orchestra together with the Italian Cultural Institute of Jakarta will hold a special opera concert to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of legendary Soprano opera singer Maria Callas.

The concert titled "Operatic Concert a 100th Anniversary Tribute to Maria Callas" will be held on Saturday, October 7 at Ciputra Artpreneur Theater, Jakarta.

"Opera is a very high form of art, and in Indonesia it is very rare to have an opera because the production challenges are expensive, so this is a good opportunity for us to be involved," said Jakarta Concert Orchestra founder Avip Priatna in a media briefing in Jakarta, Thursday, quoting Antara.

One of the things that makes this concert so special is the collaboration with the Batavia Madrigal Singers (BMS) choir, which has enriched music events in Indonesia over the years. This adds a rich vocal dimension to this show.

The concert will be chaired directly by Italian maestro Maestro Massimiliano Sinceri along with Italian musicians, such as Felicia Bongiovanni and Dario Ricchizzi who will bring the audience on an extraordinary musical journey.
