More Than 25,000 Orders In The First Month Of Sales, Harley X440 Sets A Record

JAKARTA - Since Harley-Davidson X440 went on sale in India in early July 2023, it has received a positive response from fans.

The production motorbike from the partnership between Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp, managed to set a new sales record exceeding the expectations of the two producers based on sales figures. And Hero MotoCorp, reported by Rideapart, August 8, just announced an increase in motorcycle prices after the initial ordering period ended on August 3, 2023.

On August 8, 2023, MotoCorp Hero released an initial booking with a total of 25,597 for Harley-Davidson X440 over the initial one month ordering period. This figure is very significant considering that in 2022, the total sales of Harley-Davidson across the Asia-Pacific region were only around 27,900 units. Although X440 is offered at a more affordable price compared to traditional big Harley motors, this figure clearly shows a rapid increase in unit sales "can even double" in a year's time.

In addition, Hero also noted that as many as 65 percent of the initial order was for the X440 version with the highest specifications. In the recognition price scheme at launch, the highest version was sold for around Rp49 million. While the lowest variant of the X440 variant is priced at around Rp41 million, during the initial ordering period from July 4 to August 3, 2023.

"What's even more encouraging is that the majority of our bookings come from models with the highest specifications, which clearly suggest that customers are willing to pay higher prices for the right brand and model," said Hero MotoCorp CEO Niranjan Gupta, in an official statement from the company, August 8.

To date, Hero has not announced the latest price and when the next order for the Harley-Davidson X440 will open. Meanwhile, production to meet the initial orders of 25,597 new units begins in September 2023, with deliveries to customers scheduled for October 2023.
