Omoda 5 EV Becomes Chery's First Step In Presenting Electric Vehicles For The Future

JAKARTA - The 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) is a forum for automotive companies in showing off and introducing their newest products that have the latest technology. In line with the theme carried by GIIAS 2023, namely "Future Now", several manufacturers show off innovative vehicles and can meet the mobility needs of consumers. This is what Chery does. The Chinese vehicle brand introduced the Omoda 5 EV electric car as the company's first step in innovating in presenting environmentally friendly mobility needs for the future. President of PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) and Vice President of Chery International, Shawn Xu, said that the Omoda 5 EV is not only bidding on cutting-edge technology, but also prioritizing driving safety. "We are very happy to present OMODA 5 EVs to Indonesian consumers. This electric vehicle not only carries advanced technology, but also reflects our commitment to driving environment and safety," Shawn said at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Tuesday, August 15. Unlike the gasoline version, Omoda 5 EV has a fairly different design. The LED light on the front is made extending like the light motif from the Hyundai Stargazer and comes without a grip. This is accompanied by the words "Omode" in the middle of the lamp. Having exterior differences, Chery does not significantly change the interior design of the Omoda 5 EV. The middle console is large, the control button is simple, and there is no transmission in it. With beige colors and wood motifs on the dashboard, steering, and center consoles, it adds to the luxurious impression on the electric SUV. During the GIIAS 2023 event, the Chery Omoda 5 EV received a positive response from various parties and PT CSI will open an offer for the SUV. They will open an order during the exhibition at a cost of IDR 10 million. The 0mba 5 EV will later be sent to customers starting in early 2024, but will adjust to the queue of orders. However, the Chinese manufacturer has not yet announced the price of the Omoda 5 EV. As a comparison, the two types of Omoda 5 versions of gasoline, Z and RZ, are valued at Rp. 329 million to Rp. 399 million.
