Unable To Present Witnesses, Inara Rusli Asks For Divorce Trial To Be Postponed

JAKARTA - Inara Rusli, represented by her attorney, Arjana Bagaskara, was unable to present witnesses in the trial as requested by the panel of judges last week.

Arjana Bagaskara came alone to the West Jakarta Religious Court (PA) without Inara and the witness who had previously been promised to attend.

"Today's trial agenda is the agenda of witness examination. Regarding the witnesses presented, they are not ready to attend for one reason or another. We ask for a postponement to August 16, 2023 for witness examination," said Arjana Bagaskara at the West Jakarta PA on Wednesday, August 9.

"Then, the panel continued that next Wednesday (week) it was possible for the plaintiff's attorney to provide written evidence. If the number is not too much," he continued.

When asked further about the absence of witnesses, Inara Rusli's attorney admitted that he had not seen the witness' readiness to testify at today's trial.

"The reason is that we cannot be notified. But if the witness really has to be fit and must also be ready. Because of that readiness, I see that there will only be next week so that everything is presented," said Arjana.

Furthermore, Arjana also did not deny that his party needed more time to prepare the witnesses to speak before the panel of judges.

"We ask for a delay for sufficient time to prepare ourselves," he said.

Regarding the witnesses presented, Arjana and Inara have prepared several witnesses, of which one comes from their own family members.

Similar to what he said on the previous occasion, Arjana Bagaskara hopes that his client can get something filed in the lawsuit.

"For the goal, the first is child custody, the second is Gono like this, the third is child support, the fourth is also related to mut'ah," concluded Arjana Bagaskara, Inara Rusli's attorney.
