Ma Dong Seok Becomes Producer For Hollywood Film, Hell Divers

JAKARTA - Ma Dong Seok spread his wings in the film industry by becoming a producer. His name, which has made up for the Hollywood world, will expand the opportunity by joining the production of the film Hell Divers.

According to Deadline's report, Hell Divers is an adaptation of Nicholas Sansbury Smith's science fiction novel. Apart from being a producer, Ma Dong Seok is also the main character named Xavier.

Ma Dong Seok with Avi Arad, Ari Arad, Emmy Yu and Chris S. Lee and Jerome Chen will join as producers. The script was written by JP Davis but the director has not been publicly disclosed.

Hell Divers tells the story of the universe two centuries after the second world war. The last fort of mankind living on an aerial ship surrounds the world to look for areas that are like inhabited.

Meanwhile most of these ships have fallen to Earth, so the only thing that keeps the rest is Hell Divers - a group of men and women who risk their lives by parachuting into several areas to find the parts needed for the ship.

"We are excited to join Arad Productions and Jerome Chen as producers to adapt this iconic science fiction novel, and I am honored and enthusiastic to bring Xavier's character to life," said Ma Dong Seok.

Ma Dong Seok will play Xavier, one of the Hell Divers with the stage name X.

"As a fan of the book, I was enthusiastic about adapting the story with an amazing team and seeing Don (the British name of Ma Dong Seok) give the character X a breath," Chen said.

Ma Dong Seok marked his Hollywood debut by joining Marvel's cinematic universe as Gilgamesh in the film Eternals.

Meanwhile, it is not yet known when this film will start production. Ma Dong Seok himself is busy with Hollywood adaptations from the Korean film he starred in, The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil.

In addition, Ma Dong Seok also proved his skills as a producer as well as a main star. His latest film, The Roundup: No Way Up managed to reap up to 8 million viewers this week as well as the only South Korean film to reach the box office with this number.
