JAKARTA After declaring the death of CH (16), the son of a high-ranking Indonesian Air Force officer who caught fire in ring 1 of Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, East Jakarta Metro Police stopped the legal process of the case.

"In this case, we will stop the investigation," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Gunarto to reporters, Thursday, November 23.

CH is the son of a high-ranking Indonesian Air Force officer with the rank of Colonel POM who was found on fire at the Spion Post, TNI AU Complex, Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, East Jakarta, in September 2023, then.

The discovery of CH's body at that time raised big questions. Because, the victim was found with burns, and there were a number of stabs of sharp objects in his body.

The police who carried out the crime scene also found a number of evidences. One of them is a knife with a broken handle. The knife is strongly suspected to be used to stab the victim's limbs.

Kombes Leo confirmed that there was no criminal element in this case. Although the Police Chief did not explain the motive for CH's death, based on the arrest of the strong police, it was suspected that the high school student had committed suicide.

"In conclusion, there was no criminal incident in this case. It is true (the victim stabbed himself). All evidence confirms the incident. We only provide legal certainty," concluded Kombes Leo Simarmata to VOI, Thursday, November 23.
