Golkar Gives Recommendations To Bobby Nasution, Advance North Sumatra Gubernatorial Election Or Medan City Election
JAKARTA - The Golkar Party proposes the name of President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) son-in-law, Bobby Nasution, to run as a candidate for governor of North Sumatra (North Sumatra) in the upcoming 2024 Pilkada.
Bobby's name was announced directly by the chairman of Golkar, Airlangga Hartarto.
Deputy Chairperson of Golkar, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, revealed that Bobby had received two assignment letters from Golkar regarding the 2024 Pilkada.
"Mr. Bobby received 2 assignment letters as a candidate for governor of North Sumatra and also as a candidate for mayor of Medan," Doli told reporters, Tuesday, November 21.
According to Doli, it was his party that first brought Bobby forward in the election for the governor of North Sumatra. In fact, he said, before PDIP closed the book for Bobby.
"Bobby was the first to carry the North Sumatra provincial Golkar Party. We invited him for the first time, we also pinned Golkar's clothes to Mr. Bobby. Well, we have had good communication so far. Even though yesterday he was registered as a PDIP cadre," he said.
"Before he was withdrawn from his KTA, we had communicated and determined that he would be a candidate for governor or a candidate for mayor of Medan," he continued.
Previously, Golkar Chairman Airlangga Hartarto directly announced Bobby Nasution's name to run as a candidate for governor of North Sumatra (North Sumatra) in the upcoming 2024 Pilkada.

The announcement was made after Airlangga gave a briefing to the prospective regional head or deputy regional head of Golkar Indonesia at the Golkar DPP Office, Slipi, West Jakarta, Tuesday, November 21.
"There is (Bobby), North Sumatra," Airlangga said at a press conference, Tuesday night.
