President Inaugurates New TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto Tomorrow
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo is scheduled to inaugurate TNI General Agus Subiyanto as TNI Commander at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (22/11).
"The plan is tomorrow morning (Wednesday, 22/11), the President is scheduled to inaugurate TNI General Agus Subiyanto as TNI Commander," said Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana in a short message to reporters quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 21.
Previously, the 9th Plenary Session of the DPR for the Second Session of the 2023-2024 Session Year in Jakarta, Tuesday, approved General TNI Agus Subiyanto as a candidate for the TNI Commander, as proposed by President Joko Widodo to the DPR.
"Can the report of Commission I of the DPR RI on the results of the fit, fit and proper test, the candidate for the TNI Commander in Chief regarding the dismissal of Admiral TNI Yudo Margono and appointing TNI General Agus Subiyanto as a candidate for TNI commander in chief can be approved?" asked DPR Speaker Puan Maharani at the DPR Plenary Meeting.
The question was answered in agreement by all members of the DPR and representatives of the factions who were present at the Plenary Session. Chairman of Commission I of the DPR Meutya Hafid said Commission I had carried out a fit and proper test for the candidate for TNI commander in chief on November 13, 2023 to hear the vision and mission of General Agus Subiyanto.

In addition, after listening to and considering the views of the factions and members of Commission I of the DPR, Meutya said her commission approved the honorable dismissal of TNI Admiral Yudo Margono as TNI Commander and gave appreciation for Yudo's dedication.
Ari Dwipayana said that on Wednesday (22/11) President Jokowi would only inaugurate the TNI Commander. "The information I received was that there was no agenda for the inauguration of other officials," said Ari.
After the inauguration of the TNI Commander, Ari said that President Joko Widodo would make a working visit to Papua. "Yes, there are plans for a working visit to several regions (Papua)," said Ari Dwipayana.
