JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi reviewed the implementation of Smart Village (Smart Kampung) in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java. In addition, it also inaugurated the digital transmitter of the TVRI Public Broadcasting Institute (LPP).
"With the inauguration of this digital transmitter, the TVRI LPP is expanding its reach. To date, the TVRI LPP has 158 transmission stations or 37 percent of the total digital transmission stations throughout Indonesia. With this amount, the TVRI LPP has reached 70.18 percent of the national population," Budi said when inaugurating the digital transmitter of LPP TVRI Alasmalang, Banyuwangi, in his statement, Saturday.
The construction of the Banyuwangi Alasmalang Digital Transmission Station, he said, is a tangible form of TVRI's efforts to equalize broadcast access.
Minister Budi also hopes that the people of Banyuwangi will have better access to positive and quality information broadcasts.
"Previously, in the Banyuwangi area there were no digital TVRI transmitters, the closest service areas were in Bali and on Mount Gending. The Alasmalang Transmission Station will serve digital television broadcasts in the East Java 6 Service Area, which includes Banyuwangi and its surroundings," he said.
During his working visit, Minister Budi also shared a number of top bpx (STB) sets with the surrounding community so they could enjoy digital broadcasts that have much better image quality and sound.
On that occasion, Minister Budi also paid special attention to the blank spot area in Banyuwangi to support digital transformation in Banyuwangi.
