President Jokowi Explains The Importance Of Increasing RI-US Bilateral Cooperation
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo explained the importance of increasing the status of bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and the United States from strategic partnership to corporate strategy (CSP).
"America is a big country and its influence on any country is very large. Indonesia's current exports to the United States are also very large. Therefore, space must be widened wide to strengthen this cooperation related to trade matters, economic affairs, investment affairs, critical mineral affairs, as well as energy transitions," said Jokowi as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 14.
This was conveyed by Jokowi when answering questions from the University ofaturation in Washington DC, United States, after delivering a policy speech at the campus, Monday (13/11) local time, as witnessed by a video uploaded via the Presidential Secretariat YouTube page, Tuesday, November 14.
On that occasion, the university's civitas asked two questions, namely the importance of increasing the status of bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Indonesia and the transfer of the capital city of Indonesia to the archipelago.
Regarding the increase in the status of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, President Jokowi said that as a country rich in critical minerals and potential green energy, Indonesia can become a partner for the United States because Indonesia has the largest nickel reserves in the world, the second largest tin in the world and green energy.
According to the President, Indonesia has a potential of 3,600 megawatts, which is a huge potential, which can later be used to produce green products.
"For a green economy that we can develop together between America and Indonesia. This means that all of this can be developed and contribute to the good of Indonesia, America and the world. I think so," he said.

In the bilateral meeting, one of Indonesia-US agreements was to increase the status of bilateral relations from partnership strategy to comprehensive strategic partnership (CSP).
Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi in her statement said that the Indonesian-US CSP would be a strong foundation for strengthening bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic sector.
