National Police Chief: Whoever The President-Elect Of Unity Is, Stays Guarded

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the main task of the TNI and Polri in facing the 2024 General Election is to maintain unity and integrity in society, whoever the president will be elected.

"More importantly, the task of the National Police together with the TNI is how to maintain the integrity of the community, nation, unity, and integrity. That is the main thing, whoever the president is," said Sigit in his statement after attending the honorary ceremony of Bintang Yudha Dharma Utama at the Vice Presidential Palace, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 14.

He emphasized that unity and integrity must be maintained because apart from facing challenges in the country, Indonesia also faces global challenges.

For this reason, Sigit invites all levels of society to unite together so that the Indonesian nation can face various challenges that come from within and globally.

In this election, continued the National Police Chief, the community must unite even though there is different support for the presidential-vice presidential candidate pairs to be elected.

Therefore, whoever is the president who is elected by the community, will also face global dynamics to take responsibility for the people.

"So, we prioritize maintaining unity and integrity. The name is diversity, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, Pancasila and that is what we must protect together," he said.

The former Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police said that to maintain the unity and integrity, his party had been around to convey and witness the declaration of peaceful elections.

"This is very important for the community so that there is no polarization or difference that causes division. Therefore, unity and integrity must be prioritized," said Sigit.
