Fired By PDIP, Bobby No Longer Fulfills The Requirements Of Members After Supporting Prabowo-Gibran

JAKARTA - The Medan City PDI-P (PDIP) DPC decided that Medan Mayor Bobby Afif Nasution or Bobby Nasution would no longer qualify as a party member.

This decision was taken because he openly supported Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

This statement was conveyed through Notification Number 217/IN/DPC-29.B-26.B/XI/2023. In the letter dated November 10, it was stated that Bobby had violated the code of ethics and discipline of party members.

"Brother Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution no longer meets the requirements as a member of the PDI-P," said Medan City PDIP DPC Chair Hasyim in a letter quoted on Tuesday, November 14.

Hasyim said that his party was waiting for Bobby to return his membership card (KTA). However, President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) son-in-law never did even though the PDIP DPP gave him three days after clarifying.

"Until the time limit given by the Party DPP that Brother Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution has not yet submitted a letter of resignation and the PDI-P KTA to the PDI-P DPC Medan City," he said.

Previously, Bobby Nasution admitted that he was still looking for a beautiful date to return his membership card (KTA) to the Medan City PDI-P DPC.

"I have also coordinated with the secretary, later we will look for the beautiful date," said Bobby at Medan City Hall, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 14.

This answer was given after the PDI-P DPP gave a week limit to returning KTA to the party bearing the white-nosed bull logo. This step was taken because he supported Prabowo-Gibran while PDIP supported Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD in the 2024 presidential election.
