The KPK Will Coordinate Case Supervision Requests At Polda Metro
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said it would first coordinate before making a decision regarding the supervision of the alleged extortion case led by the KPK against former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) which is currently being handled by Polda Metro Jaya.
"Before the KPK determines whether it is necessary to supervise, coordination will be carried out first. This coordination is important to obtain initial information, without entering into the substance of the case," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri, Friday, November 3.
Ali said the results of the coordination would later determine whether the KPK would supervise the handling of the case.
"From the information that will be obtained, an analysis and review will be carried out to decide whether the KPK needs to supervise the handling of the case or not," he said.
Ali explained the authority of the KPK in coordinating and supervising which is regulated in Articles 6, 8, 10, 10A of Law Number 19 of 2019 and Presidential Regulation 102 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Supervision for the Eradication of Corruption Crimes.
Ali said the KPK's response had been submitted in writing to the Polda Metro Jaya.
"Today, the Corruption Eradication Commission submitted a letter of response to the Polda Metro Jaya following up on a request for supervision of the handling of the alleged extortion case it handled," said Ali.
Previously, a joint investigation team from the Sub-Directorate of Corruption Crimes (Subditipikor) of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya and Ditipikor Bareskrim Polri had submitted a request for supervision to the KPK regarding the alleged extortion case of the KPK leadership against former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL). The application was submitted on October 11, 2023.
