This Is The Next Candidate For Autonomous Taxi Fleet
JAKARTA - Zeekr is part of Geely's group which also has other leading brands such as Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, and Lynk & Co.
With their expansion into the European and United States markets through models such as hatchback 001, minivan 009, and entry-level X electric vehicles, Zeekr further emphasizes its position as a major player in the environmentally friendly automotive industry.
One of the highlights of Zeekr is the CM1e electric minivan, which is currently being registered as the latest autonomous taxi to be submitted to Waymo, in the US.
Waymo itself is a self-driving technology development company located in Google's parent company Alphabet, which began in 2009 when Google began designing autonomous car technology.
What's interesting about this car? CM1e is specially designed in Sweden and is indeed used to be an autonomous taxi.
This car is equipped with a double sliding door in the middle on both sides, without pillars of B. The two front seats are equipped with folded backscattering, behind which there are back seats for three passengers. The seats and dashboards are coated with recycled materials that resemblejugation, namely Econyl, which is made from marine waste such as fishery nets. Two pods in the dashboard each house one air bag, and between the two there is a display screen provided by Waymo.
Zeekr claims that CM1e is capable of reaching a speed of 0 to 100 km/h of about 8 seconds, with a maximum speed of 140 km/hour.
Well, the CM1e concept is not equipped with a steering wheel, but the production version will later be equipped with a steering wheel until the autonomous steering rules are allowed by local regulations. The steering and braking system is done by-wire. All hardware for this autonomous vehicle will later be supplied by Waymo.
If Waymo accepts Geely's proposal, reported by Caranddriver, November 1, Waymo will own and operate the vehicle, while Zeekr will be responsible for manufacturing the vehicle.
