Immigration Installs 90 Autogate Machines At Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport
The Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights has started installing 90 automatic or autogate machines to scan electronic arrival visas (e-VoA) at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Badung Regency, Bali.
"The construction process for the first phase is approximately two months in 2023," said Ngurah Rai Immigration Chief Suhendra in Denpasar as reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 30.
He explained that as many as 90 machines consisted of 60 new autogate machines stationed at international arrival terminals and 30 others placed at international departure terminals.
The automatic engine installation for international travelers is carried out in two stages, namely the first stage of 30 autogates installed until December 26, 2023 at the arrival terminal and the rest will be continued in 2024.
"We apologize to the passengers for the inconvenience that may have surfaced in the immigration area during the construction process of the autogate installation," added Suhendra.
He guaranteed that immigration checks would not be disrupted and would continue to run optimally because all regular check counters remained open optimally.
The machine can be used for Indonesian citizens and foreigners using e-VoA so that immigration inspection traffic is expected to be more effective and efficient.
Meanwhile, General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Handy Heryudhitiawan appreciated the installation of an autogate engine because it had a positive impact on services at the airport.
"As a mitigation measure, we have coordinated with Immigration Ngurah Rai to regulate the flow of passenger arrivals and ensure that Immigration services in the arrival area can be served at regular counters so that airport operations continue to run smoothly," he said.
Based on data from Angkasa Pura I I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, the number of passengers until the third quarter of 2023 reached 15.8 million people or had touched 89 percent compared to the same period before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019.

The composition of the number of passengers consisting of 54 percent is international passengers or 8.5 million passengers and 46 percent of domestic passengers or 7.2 million.
The average passenger per day reaches 58,000 people or an increase compared to the same period in 2022, reaching 30 thousand people per day.
Currently, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport serves 30 international routes flying 36 airlines and 19 domestic routes flying 13 airlines.
